Religious Education is open to all first and second year students. Students have one period of RE each week.
We employ a wide variety of resources including textbooks, ICT, topical newspaper articles, film and literature, guest speakers etc.
The RE department organises activities for November We Remember. The department also runs the St Vincent de Paul food appeal every Christmas.
Junior Cycle Religious Education focuses on developing knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and values to enable young people to come to an understanding of religion and its relevance to life, relationships, society and the wider world. The focus is on the Five Major World Religions and exports the similarities and differences between them so students have an awareness and acceptance of diversity. The course is built around three interconnecting strands: Expressing Beliefs, Exploring Questions and Living our Values.
Junior classes currently have one period of Religion each week
